Ordering on Kaminarigo: Checkout, ASAP & Scheduled Orders
From customer app 3.0.9, placing an order is a short series of clear steps. This article walks through the flow so you can answer customer questions about checkout and pre-orders.
The checkout steps
- Cart — the customer reviews items, quantities, and the total, then taps Proceed to Checkout.
- How & when — the app asks "When do you want it?" (ASAP or a scheduled time) and "How do you want to get your order?". Each option explains itself: Pickup is marked Free ("No driver is sent — you'll collect this yourself at the store"), Delivery shows + delivery fee and previews the drop-off address the app will reuse. Stores that only deliver — including all pabili stores — skip this screen and go straight to the delivery step, where the same ASAP/Schedule choice appears.
- Confirm — Pickup orders are placed immediately. Delivery continues to the delivery screen: pickup and drop-off as address tiles (tap the drop-off tile to move the pin on the map), rider notes, the "if an item is unavailable" preference, vouchers, and the fare offer, then Find a Driver.
ASAP vs scheduled orders
Every order defaults to ASAP. Choosing Schedule instead opens a date and time picker — the slot must be at least 30 minutes away, up to the store's advance-order window (7 days unless the store sets otherwise). The chosen slot is shown on the order for the store, and for deliveries the rider search starts automatically closer to the slot — the customer does not need to do anything else.
Pre-order items
Some products need to be ordered ahead (for example lechon that takes 3 days, or a custom cake that needs 4 hours). When any such item is in the cart:
- The ASAP option is disabled, with a note like "Some items in your cart need at least 3 days to prepare, so this order has to be scheduled."
- The time picker will not accept a slot earlier than the item's required notice. One pre-order item sets the rule for the whole order.
- The order button stays locked as "Choose a time for your order" until a valid slot is picked.
If a customer wants part of the order sooner, they can simply place the pre-order item as its own separate order.
