Kaminarigo Customer Accounts: Profile, Selfie & Email Verification
Customers manage their own account from My Profile in the Kaminarigo app. This article explains what they can do there, why the app asks for a selfie before booking, and what support can do on a customer's behalf — so you can answer the most common account questions quickly.
The profile selfie (required for booking)
For the safety of customers and riders, every customer needs a profile photo before they can book a delivery or Kukurier errand. The photo helps the driver recognise the person they're meeting.
- If a customer has no photo, a guided pop-up appears when they try to book: it opens the front camera directly (no gallery uploads) and the booking continues the moment the photo lands.
- The app checks the shot on-device: it must contain one clearly visible face, not cut off at the edges, and not too far from the camera. The message on screen says exactly what to fix.
- Customers can retake or remove their photo anytime by tapping their avatar in My Profile. Removing it is allowed — but the next booking will ask for a new selfie.
Customer reports "face is cut off" even though the selfie looks fine? That was an iPhone-specific bug fixed in app version 3.0.7 — ask them to update the app.
Adding an email or mobile number
Accounts created with just a phone number or via Google/Facebook may be missing an email (or vice versa). In My Profile → Contact, any missing field shows an Add button (app 3.0.7+):
- Email — the customer types their address and the app immediately emails them a 6-digit verification code. An email can be added or corrected only while it is unverified; changing a verified email is a support action.
- Mobile number — saved directly to the profile. Phone verification by SMS is not available yet, so the number shows a grey "Not verified" tag; this is normal.
Verifying an email
An unverified email shows a purple Verify button on the profile. Tapping it sends a fresh 6-digit code (valid for 15 minutes) and opens a dialog to enter it. There's a Resend code link if the mail doesn't arrive — ask the customer to check spam for a message from KukuExpress. Once verified, the field shows a green Verified badge.
Verifying an email this way also counts for referral rewards, exactly as if the customer had verified at registration.
What support / super admins can do
From Admin → All Users (search works by name, username, email, or phone number), open a user with the pencil icon to:
- Upload, replace, or remove their profile photo. Removing it forces a fresh selfie on the customer's next booking — useful when a photo needs to be retaken. An uploaded photo satisfies the selfie requirement automatically.
- Manually verify their email (envelope-check button on the user list) when they can't receive the code.
- Reset their password or edit their name, username, email, phone, and account status.
Troubleshooting
- "The app still asks for a selfie, but the photo was already uploaded for them." On app 3.0.7+ this resolves itself. On older versions, ask the customer to open My Profile (pull down to refresh) or sign out and back in.
- "Their email shows in the admin but not in the app." Fixed server-side on 2026-08-14 — a pull-to-refresh on My Profile updates the display on any app version.
- "The verification code expired." Codes last 15 minutes. Tap Verify → Resend code for a new one.
Deleting an account (app 3.1.1+)
Customers can permanently delete their own account from My Profile → Delete account. The app shows a warning explaining what happens, asks for their password again (Google/Facebook sign-in accounts just confirm), and signs them out when it's done. There is also a web form at partner.kukuexpress.com/account-deletion for customers who no longer have the app installed — that path confirms ownership by an emailed link and is completed within 30 days.
What gets erased vs. what is kept
- Erased immediately: name, email, mobile number, profile photo, address, birthday, sign-in credentials, and connected Google/Facebook links. The customer can no longer log in and the account cannot be recovered.
- Kept, without personal details: records of past orders, bookings, and payments — required by law for accounting. In your store's reports and contact lists these now show as "Deleted User". Your totals, sales history, and accounting are not affected in any way.
- Forfeited: any remaining wallet balance, coins, and loyalty points. The app warns the customer about this before they confirm.
Why some deletions say "under review"
If the account is also a driver, a store staff member, or has HR/payroll records, it is never deleted automatically — wiping it could corrupt payroll, settlements, or lock a worker out of their apps. The customer sees a message that the deletion will be completed within 30 days along with a reference code, and support receives an email to handle it manually. If a customer quotes a reference code, that's what it is — the request is logged and waiting for support.
Common questions
- "A customer deleted their account by mistake — can we restore it?" No. Deletion is permanent; they can register a fresh account with the same email or number.
- "Why do I see 'Deleted User' in my contacts or reports?" That customer deleted their account. Their purchase history remains for your records; their identity does not.
- "Does deleting remove their orders from my sales?" No — sales, bookings, and payment records are all preserved. Only the personal details are erased.
