Company Customers: Bill Businesses, Not Just People
Your customer records can now be a company, not only an individual. The company itself is the client — quotations, invoices, credit limit, payment terms, and statements all belong to the business — while contact persons are the people at that company you actually correspond with. This matches standard accounting practice: the customer is the billable legal entity; contacts are how you reach it.
Creating a Company Customer
- Go to Customers → Add New Customer.
- Switch the Customer Type toggle to Company.
- Enter the Registered Company Name, and optionally the TIN and VAT-registered flag — these support BIR-compliant B2B billing.
- The email, phone, and address fields become the company's own details (registered business address, main line, accounting inbox).
Existing customers can be switched to Company on their edit page. Company customers appear everywhere person customers do — quotations, invoices, statements, reports — under the company name.
Contact Persons
On a company customer's edit page you'll find a Contact Persons card. Add the people you deal with — name, position (e.g. "Purchasing Officer"), email, phone — and mark one as Primary. The primary contact is the default recipient whenever you email the company a document. The first contact you add becomes primary automatically.
Who Receives Quotations and Invoices
When a quotation or invoice belongs to a company customer:
- The quotation form gets an Attention (contact person) picker — choose who the quote is addressed to. The client-facing quote page shows "Prepared for Company, Attn: Contact, Position".
- The send dialog lists the company's contacts — pick who gets the email, or choose "Other email…" to type any address. The email greets the contact by name.
- When an accepted quote converts to an order or invoice, the chosen contact carries over, so the invoice defaults to the same person.
- Every send is logged with the recipient ("Emailed to name@company.com (Attn: Maria Santos)") in the document's activity log.
If a company has no contacts yet, sending works exactly as before — it uses the company's own email, or an address you type in the dialog.
Notes
- Contacts are for correspondence only — balances, credit limit, and statements always stay on the company.
- Person customers are unchanged; the type toggle simply defaults to Person.
- Removing a contact never breaks past documents — they fall back to the company's email on the next send.
